- Grumman Tracker CS2F. Used from 1957 until 1990 in the roles of ASW, reconnaissance and environmental patrols.
- North American Harvard over Halifax Dockyard.
- Hawker Sea Fury. A total of 75 Sea Furies served with the Royal Canadian Navy(R.C.N.) between 1948 and 1956. All flew from the Aircraft Carrier HMCS MAGNIFICENT in 871 Squadron. The Sea Fury was the last piston engined fighter to be used by the Navy, and one of the best of it’s type, showing itself on many occasions to be superior to the more up-to-date enemy jets of the Korean conflict.
- McDonnell F2H-3 Banshee. One of 39 purchased from the U.S. Navy in 1955 by Canada to equip two seaborne fighter squadrons on the Aircraft Carrier H.M.C.S. BONAVENTURE.
- Piasecki HUP. The VU-33 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Navy used three Piasecki HUP-3 helicopters between 1954 and 1964.

- Sikorsky H04S. Came into use with the RCN in 1952 as an ASW platform. Top speed was 112kts carrying up to one torpedo.
- Supermarine Seafire XV. The Supermarine Seafire was a derivative of the famous Spitfire fighter plane. Developed for carrier use, the Seafire incorporated changes such as a tail hook, attachments for catapult use, and on later variants, folding wings.
